AG Jackson led the 51 bipartisan Attorneys General of the Anti-Robocall Multistate Litigation Task Force in sending letters notifying nine voice service providers that they may be violating state and federal laws by continuing to route allegedly unlawful robocalls across their networks. These warning letters include information about the task force’s investigation and analysis of each provider’s illegal and/or suspicious robocall traffic.
“Unlawful robocalls are a huge hassle for North Carolinians and a popular tool for scammers to steal people’s money and information. These calls are happening more and more often each day across a variety of networks, and it has to stop. I’m warning major phone providers to crack down on routing these calls so North Carolinians can be better protected from scams and fraud.” – AG Jackson
