New Jersey Attorney General Platkin announces safeguards to protect the right to vote during the 2025 local primary election

Published Date: Jun 2, 2025

Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin announced that the Department of Law and Public Safety (LPS) is taking steps to help ensure a fair and smooth-running election during the upcoming 2025 primary election. The Department’s efforts to protect the right to vote will once again include a Voter Protection Initiative to address voting rights and civil rights issues that arise during early voting and on Election Day. “Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy. Here in New Jersey, we are proud to have free, fair, and secure elections, and we will work tirelessly to ensure that every eligible voter is able to exercise their fundamental right to vote. We have the systems in place to address and resolve voting-related issues as they arise, and we will not tolerate any attempts to interfere with or disrupt our democratic process.” – AG Platkin
