Attorney General Kris Mayes announced major settlements with Frontier Communications Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc. to address years of unreliable internet and phone service in Navajo and Apache counties. These agreements, secured through the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) at the Arizona Corporation Commission as well as a civil consent judgment, include enforceable commitments to invest in rural broadband infrastructure, fix public safety-related service outages, and protect ratepayers from unfair costs.

These settlements will hold Frontier and Verizon accountable to the communities they serve, bring major investments in broadband infrastructure, and represent a big step in ensuring that residents in these rural areas receive the high-quality service they deserve.” – AG Mayes
