AG Weiser issued the following statement after a federal court issued a preliminary injunction blocking the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Secretary Brooke Rollins from requiring Colorado to comply with a so-called pilot program as a condition of SNAP food benefits for those in need:
“I am pleased that the court blocked the USDA from forcing Colorado to participate in a pilot program to recertify within 30 days over 100,000 households that receive SNAP food assistance in the state. Colorado did not receive advance warning or time to prepare, the timeline would have been impossible to meet, and the state faced removal from the SNAP program if it did not comply." – AG Weiser
