Attorney General Phil Weiser released the following statement regarding today’s Supreme Court decision in the birthright citizenship case:

“Today, the Supreme Court reaffirmed the long-standing right to citizenship enshrined in the Constitution: If you are born in this country, you are a U.S. citizen. The president issued his birthright citizenship executive order with blatant disregard for the Constitution. It’s astonishing that we had to fight this case because the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment is so plainly clear." – AG Weiser
