AG Weiser Announces Settlement with Large Egg Producers After Uncovering Illegal Scheme to Jack Up Prices

Published Date: Jun 30, 2026

Attorney General Phil Weiser today secured 53 million eggs for consumers nationwide and $3.3 million from some of the nation’s largest egg producers for colluding behind the scenes for nearly three years to raise prices. Attorney General Weiser said approximately 2,023,468 eggs will be delivered directly to food banks and community organizations serving Colorado, and the state is expected to receive $125,000 in settlement funds.

“For the last few years, Coloradans have been struggling with higher grocery prices and wondering why food costs are so stubbornly high. Our investigation in this case uncovered illegal activity by large egg producers to collude and artificially increase egg prices for consumers and businesses. This deliberate corporate manipulation of egg prices for profit is illegal and immoral and we’re putting a stop to it. We’re committed to fighting for consumers against corporate abuses." – AG Weiser
