AG Weiser and AG Campbell led a coalition of 20 Attorneys General in challenging the unconstitutional executive order ending birthright citizenship

Published Date: Jan 21, 2025

Attorney General Phil Weiser announced that he and a coalition of attorneys general are challenging a White House executive order ending birthright citizenship, which violates the constitutional rights that all children born in the United States are entitled to. “The White House executive order attempting to end birthright citizenship is flatly unconstitutional. The idea that a president could override the Constitution with the stoke of a pen is a flagrant assault on the rule of law and our constitutional republic. The executive order cannot be allowed to stand, and I will fight to ensure that all who are born in the United States keep their right to fully and fairly be a part of American society as a citizen with all its benefits and privileges.”- AG Weiser
