AG Nessel Secures Agreement with Texas Company Over Deceptive Mackinac Island Tickets Websites

Published Date: Nov 7, 2025

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has reached an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance (AVC) with MTVRS, LLC, a Texas company, resolving allegations that it violated the Michigan Consumer Protection Act by operating websites that misled consumers into believing they were purchasing official tickets for popular Mackinac Island attractions. The agreement (PDF), filed earlier this week, follows a cease-and-desist notice sent by the Department of Attorney General instructing MTVRS to take down or correct the alleged deceptive websites.
“Deceptive websites not only harm consumers but the legitimate businesses and agencies that preserve and promote our attractions,” Nessel said. “My office will continue to pursue companies that mislead tourists to ensure Michiganders and visitors can trust the sites they use to plan their vacations.”
