Today, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced the Department of Attorney General has launched a new consumer protection social media account, Michigan Consumer Protection (@MIConsumerWatch), dedicated to helping Michigan residents stay safe from scams, identity theft, and other deceptive schemes.
“Scammers are getting more and more sophisticated, and often use social media to find consumers,” Nessel said. “We’re meeting people where they are – online – to make sure Michigan residents have the information they need to recognize, avoid, and report scams before it’s too late.”
