AG Nessel announced that the U.S. First Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the Trump administration’s request to stay a preliminary injunction that halts the mandatory implementation of a United States Postal Service mail-ballot rule for the November 2026 election. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel issued a statement in response.
“We have been incredibly successful in fighting back against the Trump administration’s attempts to usurp states’ authority over elections, […] Every eligible Michigander has the constitutional right to vote, and I remain committed to protecting that right from those who would undermine our democratic process.” – AG Nessel
