AG Nessel advises attendees to be aware of parking scams during Detroit Auto Sho

Published Date: Jan 14, 2026

AG Nessel is warning residents about potential parking scams that may affect Detroit Auto Show attendees. While visitors often park in privately owned lots, scammers may take advantage of the Auto Show to sell parking spaces for lots they don’t have authority over – which could lead to cars being ticketed, towed, or stolen.

“The Detroit Auto Show brings large crowds to downtown Detroit, so it’s imperative that visitors are aware of fraudsters. Planning your parking ahead of time is the best way to avoid parking scams.” – AG Nessel
