Attorney General Mayes announced that the Civil Rights Division of the Attorney General’s Office secured aConsent Decree to successfully resolve a public enforcement discriminationlawsuit against Shirley Ann Enterprises, LLC (“Shirley Ann”). The suit allegedthat Shirley Ann violated the Arizona Fair Housing Act when it refused to renewa lease due to a tenant’s disability-related need for an assistance animal andretaliated against and interfered with a tenant’s fair housing rights. “Thejourney toward fair housing for all is far from over.
