Attorney General Kris Mayes announced that Arizona has safeguarded $1.5 billion in federal funds through ongoing multi-state legal action, ensuring these critical resources continue to serve Arizonans and support essential public programs while the cases proceed in court. Attorney General Mayes has filed 25 lawsuits challenging the Trump administration. Many of these lawsuits focused on President Trump’s unlawful attempts to block or withhold congressionally authorized funds. These funds, originally at risk of being cut or frozen midstream, are currently protected and remain in place to fund education, infrastructure, public health, veterans’ services, environmental protection, and other essential programs in Arizona.
“These aren’t just numbers, they are an incredible return on investment for the work my office is doing to protect Arizonans and uphold the Constitution. Every dollar safeguarded means programs Arizonans depend on can continue without disruption. My office will keep fighting in court to ensure our state’s taxpayers and communities are not left paying the price for unlawful actions of the Trump administration.” -AG Mayes
