New York Attorney General Letitia James today announced that 191 firearms were turned in at a community gun buyback event in Brooklyn this weekend hosted by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, the New York City Police Department (NYPD), and the Office of the New York State Comptroller. This event was part of Attorney General James’ ongoing effort to combat gun violence and keep New Yorkers safe. To date, Attorney General James has removed more than 9,900 guns from New York state since taking office in 2019.

This weekend’s gun buyback event resulted in the removal of 191 unwanted guns from our streets, marking a critical step in our fight to protect our communities from gun violence.
