The undersigned Attorneys General of Minnesota, New York, Washington, Arizona,California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine,Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, and Rhode Island (the “State AGs”),submit this Comment in opposition to the proposed rulemaking by the Department of Labor(“DOL” or “the Department”) entitled Recission of Final Rule: Improving Protections for Workersin Temporary Agricultural Employment in the United States (the “Proposed Rule”). The ProposedRule would largely rescind the final rule published by DOL on April 29, 2024, (“2024 Final Rule”)which aimed to strengthen protections for temporary agricultural workers. The Proposed Rule, ifadopted, would roll back protections for agricultural workers as well as remove or severely restrictimportant tools to enforce those protections. The State AGs urge DOL to withdraw the ProposedRule.
