AG Clark and AG Campbell co-lead a bipartisan coalition of 39 states and territories asking Congress to prohibit pharmacy benefit mangers from owning or operating pharmacies

Published Date: Apr 14, 2025

AG Clark, AG Campbell, AG Griffin, and AG Bailey co-led a bipartisan coalition of 39 states and territory attorneys general in sending a letter formally urging congressional leadership to pass an act that would prohibit pharmacy benefit managers from owning or operating pharmacies.

“The high cost of prescriptions drugs in this country is unacceptable, and PBMs are part of the problem. When PBMs operate pharmacies, they obscure the true cost of prescription drugs, squeeze out independent pharmacies, reduce competition, and narrow consumer choice. To protect consumers, I’m calling on Congress to prohibit pharmacy benefit managers from owning and operating pharmacies.” – AG Clark
