Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell today led a coalition of 19 attorneys general in moving to file an amicus brief in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. The brief, if accepted by the Court, opposes the Trump Administration’s motion to reconsider the court’s ruling quashing the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) subpoena for documents, including patient records, related to gender affirming care at Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH).
"Gender affirming care can be lifesaving for transgender young people and is essential to their emotional and physical wellbeing,” said AG Campbell. “I will continue to stand up for the rule of law and the right for Massachusetts residents to receive medically necessary and lawful care.”
