Washington Attorney General Nick Brown today took another important step in his effort to defend consumers from fast-rising utility bills, arguing against Puget Sound Energy’s (PSE) steep price hikes for gas and electric service. In expert testimony filed Tuesday with the Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC), the AG’s office is challenging the energy utility PSE’s proposal to increase customer electric rates by 29% and gas rates by 20% over the next three years. The AG’s office argues that these increases are excessive and unreasonable.
