CA Attorney General Rob Bonta issued the following statement on a decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to fully restore the Affordable Care Act’s preventive care mandate. The mandate requires private insurers to cover certain preventive services, such as cardiovascular disease intervention, lung, breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer screening, and dental and vision screening for infants and children, at no cost to consumers. “Preventive care saves lives and lowers healthcare costs, and this decision keeps that care within reach for all Americans. Today’s decision preserves preventive care, but we must and will remain vigilant in defending Californians against attacks on these important services.” – AG Bonta
