Attorney General Raúl Torrez today issued the following statement after a federal judge in Rhode Island ordered the Trump Administration to fully fund Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits by tomorrow, November 7. The Trump Administration has since appealed that ruling.
“This is a major victory for families across New Mexico,” said Attorney General Raúl Torrez. “Hundreds of thousands of New Mexicans utilize SNAP benefits to put food on the table, and today’s ruling ensures they will receive this support. My office will continue to stand up for families when the federal government fails to meet its legal and moral obligations to our communities.”
